Background: Approximately 7 months ago I contracted with the Pools Removed, Andrew to do a partial removal of my pool and attached spa. My gunite pool built by Anthony-Sylvan Pools in 1987 was in excellent condition. By way of full disclosure, I am a real estate appraiser and I have my own opinions about the value added to the home site. Generally pools add only a nominal value when compared to the construction cost new unless you live in a very upscale neighborhood. Pools do add utility and fun for the entire family. While I protested the construction in 1987, I conceded to the desires of my young family. Now fast forward to 2019, I am now alone and might possibly want to sell the property in the next few years. Most buyers even those with young families do not want swimming pools. I feel that if you had ten potential buyers, you may find one that might want to buy your house.
